Condom thoughts from Jon Stewart

condom-Jon-Stewart

For those of you, who think I am not aware what Jon Stewart says blogging,  let me assure you, I do.

Jon Stewart is my favorite news anchor. I did not make a mistake, his independent and unique way to comment on current news and events makes me THINK. I enjoy his sense of humor, his way of analyzing our life.

That’s  why I felt so excited to see him live in Atlantic City.  He was performing in Borgatta.

His monologues and sketches were real, visible and funny.

I especially enjoyed his thoughts about a ban on condom’s ad on public TV. It comes down to following –

Do you think that teens will be encouraged to have sex by watching condom’s commercials? No, they most likely go wild after drinking beer. However, beer commercials are running on every single channel!

It was worth to drive to AC just to breeze fresh air coming from the ocean and get a bit of refreshing thoughts to my head.

Jon, you should live forever!

JLS Condom made with LOVE

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

POP Band JLS (stands for Jack the Lad Swing), came up with a new CONDOM – in order to promote condom use.

Condoms will have a snappy name Just Love Safe.  This name is inspired by the band hit song Everybody In Love and abbreviation of group’s name.

Idea came out from the band interview with The Sun a month ago. First it sounded like a joke, but Durex company got in touch with them (Durex is always on a top of  the game) and the idea became a reality.

MARVIN HUMES, ASTON MERRYGOLD, ORITSE WILLIAMS and JONATHAN “JB” GILL decided on color-coordinated condoms to each one of them;

Aston gets a blue one, Marvin will have green, Oritse signs for red and JB for  yellow.

POP Band JLS is a winner of Shagger of The Year award in 2009. Women are in love with charismatic young musicians and the band is famous as being irresistible Casanovas.

Their influence on young fans will help worldwide campaigns to encourage safe sex and use of condoms.

Condom distribution at 2010 Vancouver Olympics

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Olympics condom

It started with this news report

During 17 days of Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia Centre for Disease Control distributed 100,000 condoms. Then, when a rumor started that there was a shortage, a new shipment of 8,500 additional condoms came from the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research.

Free condoms were distributed not just among athletes, but also to security, maintenance and volunteers. They were handed out in public bathrooms of the pavilions, when people were attending free concerts. Volunteers participated in the condoms distribution.

Clay Adams of Vancouver Coastal Health said, “When you’ve got a global audience like this, it’s a huge opportunity to educate the world”.

He also mentioned that 40 000 condoms out of 100 000 condoms were distributed among athletes.

Adams said, “Indications are that Vancouver topped the podium for Winter Olympics. Although we recently heard that they issued 35 million condoms for Mardi Gras in Rio, so I suppose we all have a long, long way to go to reach that mark.”

The first time free condoms were handed out at the Olympics in Barcelona in 1992. But Vancouver marked this story as the first time getting shortage of condoms in the history of Olympics.

Thanks Canada for raising AIDS awareness!

The following video gives you a funny summary on the story

Do you have a “bucket list”?

Well, one of the restaurants in Toronto, Canada would like to be the one of the “101 places to have sex before you die.”
According to The National Post, Mildred’s Temple Kitchen sent emails to their mail list participants, with a special invitation to have sex in one of four restaurants’ bathrooms between February 12th and February 15th.

“Check out Mildred’s Sexy Bathrooms throughout the weekend of Big Love. You get the picture.”
Excerpt from the interview with manager Rory Gallagher,
“We wanted to do something different for Valentine’s Day and stuffed teddy bears have been done. We wanted to branch out a little bit. It’s the perfect opportunity to do something all weekend long. For our brunches we are actually going to have beds in our dining room and we will serve breakfast in bed.”

As for cleaning, there will be a French maid supervising the bathrooms all weekend.
Customers should think about their protection and bring condoms with them.

Santa Costume from Condoms?

Santa Condom

Holiday spirit is in our houses, on our streets and at the malls. Santa, as a cheerful guest, is greeting us everywhere. But owners of Bangkok’s restaurant  “Cabbages and Condoms”, decided to go further than cheering guests  with Santa.  Their Santa’s costume is made from… condoms! So, why did they use such an unusual name for their restaurant ?

Everything in the restaurant is about condoms! It happened to be, that the owners of the reastaurant promote  condom use. They feel, that the word condom has to be used in common language as often, as any regular words. Because cabbage is used a lot in food in Thailand, condoms use suppose to be  as common as use of a cabbage.

What a great idea!

Safe sex campaigns are usually associated with condoms distribution.  A common thing is to have a custom logo on a condom wrapper with some kind of AIDS/STD awareness expression. Sometimes celebrities are contributing in those campaigns just by allowing using their images or names.

Famous artist, rapper, performer 50 Cent had a great idea about worldwide safe sex campaign Wrap It Up. He wanted to make a new condom brand by applying sex-boosting ingredients to the condom. It would bring more pleasure and sexual satisfaction to safe sex with condom. Unfortunately, the idea failed to become reality. Scientists were not able to come up with a possible result.

“I was looking for the opportunity to create a new safe sex campaign. The Wrap It Up campaign is something that is used so often, it wasn’t effective anymore. So I thought this is a great opportunity for me to get involved,” said artist according to news articles.

I would love to express my gratitude to 50 Cent, just for trying to make a difference in a global fight for safe sex awareness.

Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Syphilis raise in 2009

Curious couple

Latest statistics show that sexually transmitted diseases are spreading among teens in USA faster than before.  It is especially sad, because three well treatable STDs, such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Syphilis are among them.

It happened partially because of a wrong approach to sexual education among young generation. Abstinence only sex education is not working!

Don’t we know that a forbidden fruit is always sweet?

Statistics published by Reuters are devastating:

- 100,000 more occurrences of Chlamydia showed up in 2008 versus 2007.

- Teen aging girls have the most cases of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea (409,531) than age group of women.

- 71 % Gonorrhea and around 50% of Chlamydia and Syphilis cases are accounted among African-American community.

- Syphilis cases in women group is 36% higher in 2008 comparing to 2007

According to John Douglas, director of the division of sexually transmitted diseases at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “We have among the highest rates of STDs of any developed country in the world.”

“We are not honestly and openly dealing with this issue and it’s the larger issue of sexual health,” said John Douglas. He specifically mentioned the importance of condom use,  regular STD testing and Sexual Education.

David Beckham Condom

DavidBeckham

People, listen up; do you like soccer (aka European football)?

How about David Beckham? Oh, yessss!

There is a new condom on the market – you can buy it only in  Thyssen-Bornemisza museum in Madrid Spain. It has an image of sleeping David Beckham on the cover.

This image is a copy from an art video made by an artist Sam Taylor-Wood. Video was inspired by Andy Warhol’s film Sleep and it was on display at National Portrait Gallery in England.

The idea of showing this image on condom’s wrapper makes art to promote condoms.

Baroness Thyssen, who is a big supporter of the initiative, is a famous Spanish beauty. Her wealthy art fan husband found the museum. She says, “I don’t see why anyone should be scandalized. It is a way of bringing art and responsibility together.”

Ecstasy is a magical experience.  According to www.WiKipedia.com

Ecstasy is subjective experience of total involvement of the subject, with an object of his or her awareness.”

No wonder Trojan came out with a new line of condoms named “Ecstasy”. The main purpose of them is not to get in the way of your senses during sex. Trojan promises you will feel the pleasure and not the condom.

So, why do you need to try them instead of condoms you are using? What is so different about them?

1. They come from Trojan family of condoms, the best condom brand in the world of condoms. They not only birth control and STDs protection, but also they designed with your physical satisfaction in mind.

2. Trojan Ecstasy Condoms have a new tapered base almost 1/3 of the length of the condom for secure fit. The loose fit on the top makes movement more free and safe. It helps to achieve feeling that is more natural because nerve endings can become more sensitive.

3. Another innovation is that Trojan Ecstasy Condoms textured around the base and the head. This makes sure that the enjoyment will not end for a while!

4. Trojan does not stop with new design and name assigned. As promised, it delivers 3 different varieties for this particular line “Trojan Her Pleasure Ecstasy condoms”, “Trojan Ribbed Ecstasy” “Trojan Magnum Ecstasy Condoms” to fulfill everybody’s needs.

What is the difference between those 3 models?

All of them tapered at the base. All of them design with texture along the length of the condom. The Her Pleasure Ecstasy condoms designed with women’s vaginal and clitoral stimulation in mind.
